Did you catch any of the game of thrones Series?
I have always been a theme of period pieces and things in old England… so I was immediately attracted to Game of Thrones, when I first saw it was to be aired on cable.
Game of Thrones is on HBO (Home Box Office’s paid cable and online streaming service) and is based on a fantasy based story entitled A Song of Fire and Ice. A Song of Ice and Fire is an ongoing series of epic fantasy novels by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin. Martin began writing the series in 1991 and the first volume was published in 1996. Originally planned as a trilogy, the series now consists of five published volumes; a further two are planned. In addition there are three prequel novellas currently available, with several more being planned, and a series of novella-length excerpts from the main Ice and Fire novels.(some of this from Wikipedia).
What is the Game of Thrones About
The series explores a medieval-like world. It seems like long ago, but it has some tinges of far in the future elements too. Most of the scenes are dark and cold and you feel like you are right there with the characters. There is a large cast of characters with only one prize in mind. The Throne.. hence the renaming of the HBO series… Game of Thrones
The plot is quite simple. Each participant engages in a game where either he will win a throne or die trying to get it.
Game of Thrones captivates many viewers and has many memorable scenes.
Since the series airs on HBO, it does not have the same censorship guidelines as regular TV and it contains a fair amount of gore and explicit nudity which may offend some viewers or may not be appropriate for young people in your home.
The show has gotten good reviews from critics so if this your genre, be sure to give it a try. Most HBO series are available on demand, so don’t worry that the beginning episodes have already aired. You can easily catch right up.
Hope you enjoy it!
