recruiting menWith quite a few years in the trenches of Network Marketing companies, I have heard it time and time again that women find it more challenging recruiting men with a business opportunity.

There is cause for concern since let’s face it men and women have very different communication styles and it is worth it for you to take a little time to better understand how to speak the language of the person you are recruiting or coaching.

Recruiting men into your network marketing company:

Now please note that I have no choice other than to speak in generalities on this topic everyone is different, but these traits are typical and can serve as guidelines when you are talking to prospects or are training.

1. Men tend to be more aggressive in network marketing as they are pushing back from more widely accepted corporate models and they sometimes approach their business with an aire of having something to “justify” or something to “prove”. And remember they may be pushing back against and entire lifetime of hearing a message to get an education and get a job. They may be facing ignorant disapproval from former collegues, friends, their spouse and even their family. This can create a justifiable chip on the shoulder, but it can be honed into a fine tuned tool to connect with other prospects who are facing similar challenges.

2. Men, as traditional bread winners, are often very motivated by money and/or financial freedom. Even if spending time with your family is one of your top motivators, you may not want to lead with this unless you know for sure this is a top priority for your prospect.

3. Men can be ego-driven this can be a great thing if their ego motivates them to success, but can be a challenge if it makes them hard to coach and unwilling to accept new ideas and learn.

4. Men can give off an air of confidence which is almost always a plus but you need to make sure that this isn’t a trigger for you to lose your cool.

5. Men love a challenge which is a good thing because they will be facing challenges in their business and you can directly challenge them to perform in their business.

Remember when recruiting men in network marketing companies that they usually love to be challenged by their fellow distributors and need some type of aggressive personality to push them in the right direction. This is true for when you’re first prospecting them, or if they are already in your business that needs some coaching

If you are recruiting men who have an aggressive personalities, and it doesn’t work out, that is still okay. It is most important that you sound confident and do not try to “tell” too much. Give them the facts and challenge them to decide why he wouldn’t want the clear benefits of business ownership and financial freedom. Keep it simple and don’t put yourself in a position where you might be tripped up.  Another approach is to ask a lot of questions. Remember you are also screening them, and you should give them the opportunity to prove to you that he is an intriguing prospect for you.

Men are great assets in your business. They dominate the high income bracket population in network marketing companies and are wonderful presenters. The part they will need help with is not reinventing the wheel. The need to be open to abandoning other business practices and honing a new skill set.  Be ready for a bit of push back and make a wise decision when someone is putting more energy in disagreeing with you or proving you wrong, than simply working through the challenges of understanding and implementing new business ideas.

Find out what this is. I recently read a Numis Network review that thought would really give you a clear picture of how this company works:

It was based on a recorded Numis Network Review that I found online that talked about some key points of this company and how it differentiates itself from other similar network marketing companies. Hopefully the substance of the call which I have summarized here will help you in deciding if this opportunity is for you.

Not too long ago, there was a call with the top muckity mucks over at Numis Network as well as Numis Network co-founder Jake Evoking. I think if there were a winner of the debate, Numis came out on top from the word go, by allowing themselves to be put under the microscope on the call.

They represented themselves and their company with complete professionalism. They also explained concisely why the coins themselves are a legitimate and important product.

Although they are arguably an “investment” many many people think they are just exciting to own and there is an enormous community who collects coins without any thoughts about “hedging” against the weak economy or any such thing.

So no, Numis is not the same thing as all the gold and silver deals that have been shut down in the past (American Gold Eagle, Gold Unlimited, etc.). They are not simply selling an alternative form of American currency (like selling a Susan B. Anthony dollar for $1.00), nor are they selling vouchers in lieu of coins. When you delve into a Numis Network Review you will learn that Numis sells MS70 (un-circulated) gold and silver coins. You can join the coin of the month club and grow your collection month by month or you can buy sets that are often limited editions.

These coins can be purchased individually, so although a nice convenience, it’s just a convenience the intrigue of course, is the ability to earn a commission on referring a popular product and in addition, earn monetary bonuses, cars and luxury travel.

The coin collecting part of Numis Network should have an appeal to anyone who is interested in this type of collection.

The multi-level marketing aspect is what gives this company a unique twist when you do your Numis Network Review.

Any Numis Network Review will explain that there is an opportunity to purchase Fast Track Kits (which results in bonus pay outs). So like most multi level marketing companies, you can earn by referring collectors or business builders. What is different is that the product is not a consumable that people don’t want stacked up in the garage. Most people are happy to have a box full of something with a re-sellable value.

So your next question might be, what if the market value drops? This is a great question. First and foremost, Numis Network is not a investment company with the objective of speculating on the rise and fall of Gold and silver in the greater marketplace. To eliminate the notion of speculation and arbitrage, it set up a 100% value buy back in 5 years so no matter what the market conditions, you can sell your collection back to the company for full face value. This adds a unique twist for this company as there are no other MLM companies out there that will take their products back 5 years down the road( or maybe even one year down the road) and give a 100% money back guarantee. This eliminates any long term risk in getting involved in this company.

There has also been a fair amount of debate online regarding the rarity of the coins. For example, there were over 30 million 2009 Silver Eagles minted, almost 7 million 2010s have already been minted (and will likely end the year at around 20 million). Arguably, this makes the coins not particularly rare, however they still have an enormous demand and current value.

But in Numis Network’s defense, it’s the highest possible MS70 rating, meaning the coin is virtually flawless, even under a microscope, that causes a coin to appreciate from its silver content value (in this case around $20) to the $99 value. There’s also such things to consider as whether or not it is a “first strike”, meaning one of the first coins for a new mintage to come off the line (supposedly the die that’s used by the mint wears down over time), and which grading service came up with the MS70 grade (there are several such services with varying degrees of credibility).

After having done quite a bit of research on this, I’ve come to the conclusion Numis Network is not at all being misleading in their business model or the quality of their products.

The are also accountable to the numismatic grading industry and this is something that is very strictly regulated. A coin is either MS70 or it isn’t. It is either flawless, or it’s not (perhaps due to a worn die). Nonetheless, Numis Network relies on ANACS, widely considered to be one of only four “A” rated grading services.

Numis Network is also extremely sensitive to SEC scrutiny when it comes to claims of “increasing value” or anything that would suggest their product (gold and silver coins) are a good “investment”. This has contributed to the demise of gold & silver coin deals in the past. Numis Network corporate did a great job of defending the corporate position on this, and they do appear to be proactively trying to educate their distributors in this area.They even include a very concisely worded video making sure that their company is not misrepresented and they are strict with any potential rogue marketers.

Numis Network takes the position that they are in a similar position to health care companies whose representatives make unsubstantiated health claims. I think this is a bit off the mark because precious metals, especially bullion coins, are commonly marketed as investments and as a great hedge against inflation. (just turn on the TV after 11pm). I understand that Numis Network is selling numismatic (collector) coins, not just bullion coins, but the collectible is still composed of something well known, and well marketed, as a great investment. So their rhetoric will have to compete with most financial news reports on every week.

It is sometimes hard to know how to pick the right mlm. There are so many great success stories out there and they all have their appeal. However there are some key factors that you must keep in mind when you are making your choice:

 

1. Niche: There are some established niches that are very saturated. This doesn’t mean that it is bad product to market, but new marketers need to be wary of starting out with a very competitive niche as it will be much harder to compete.

2. Age of company: There needs to be a balance between new companies and old companies. Of course, there is something to be said for joining an older company. You will have the confidence of knowing that they aren’t going any where and are unlikely to fold. However, if you are looking to rise to the top, you will have a lot farther to go if you sign up for an older company. At the same time new companies have a great appeal, but they need not be so new that you incur additional risk if they are not well organized or are still learnign the ropes as you go.

3. Product/Service: more specifically, I am personally wary of companies where the product has a short shelf life, or is susceptible to recall or could make someone ill. I lean towards tangibles that people will want to keep over time, like gold and silver and not something that my customer could have an allergic reaction to… which happened to me once.

Multi level Marketing Is Hard!

MLM is hard

Let’s call it like it is. A lot of people go to this shiny flashy presentation and they see the glitz, glamour and money in MLM and they are over the moon. What they don’t realize is that it takes a lot of hard work to get to that level.

The first year in network marketing is a make it or break it time. Strap on your seat belt because you will be overworked and underpaid. You will have long nights, you will have days when every person that you connect with will tell you “NO!”…. but you have to keep going. You have to dust off your boots and try it again…

And what do I mean more specifically? Well for starters, get out of your own way and yes, call that warm list. Get started there. You can always say that “hey, cousin Joe, this may not be for you, but if I do really well, I just don’t want you to think that I didn’t share it with you.”

Front load your “no’s” if you have to and it will get you that much closer to a YES.

When you have exhausted that list… make a new one… connect online, connect offline.

You have to share your opportunity 2-3 times a day. Everyday… and when you sign someone up, tell them to do the same everyday. This is how quality teams are built.

This is the “pain” for the “gain” that you have been hoping for… dreaming of and frankly deserving.

The second year of network marketing… if you have been sticking to the plan is very different. This is where you will catch your stride. This is where you feel comfortable with your product, your presentation and you will have successes to brag about. And YES, you will start making some serious money.

Year three is when you are faced with a whole new problem… WEALTH… Yes, I did say problem because many people are not ready for wealth. Their lives can change a lot. Not just the ability to consume, but on a deeper level, you may look very different in the eyes of your peers. They may not be able to relate to you and you may find that cherished friend, may not be your friend anymore at all.

This is a sad reality. This will happen, you will lose people along the way… but you can remain YOU. And there is nothing more fun than giving money away, and having just a darn good time with it.

So I just wanted to give you a word or two of encouragement.
